Info | At 18 years old, Arvell Blakley started working as a meter reader for Public Service. The following year he was made foreman of the meter department. He continued working with Public Service until he joined his father at A. A. Blakely Livestock Comm. Company in 1912. He became president of the livestock company after his father’s death. Blakley was president of the Denver and Colorado Livestock Exchanges and Vice President of the National Livestock Exchange. He was President of the Denver City Council from 1937-1939.
