Born in Naperville, IL on August 7, 1959, Mary's parents Annette and Harvey Meyer instilled in her the value of hard work and putting other people first. She grew up in a Christian home and remains a committed Christian today.
Mary learned the value of hard work and putting other people first from her parents, Annette and Harvey Meyer. She is pro-life and pro-2nd Amendment. She opposes efforts to confiscate firearms from honest gun owners, supports term limits and opposes tax increases. She graduated from Naperville High School in 1977 and later graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 1981 with a BS in Business Management. She worked in the administration at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon and today runs the family farm with her husband, Chris. Then in the late 1980s, Mary went back to school at EIU and earned a degree in elementary education. Today, she teaches children through a network of home schools. In her spare time, she teaches Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.
Chris and Mary have seven children and 16 grandchildren. They attend Oakland Christian Church in Oakland, IL.
