InfoCounty/Prosecuting Attorney's Office, Sheridan, WY
After Law School, Tim began his career right away in public service, working for a small County/Prosecuting Attorney’s Office in Sheridan, Wyoming. Under the experienced leadership of Matt Redle, the foundation for commitment to public safety was laid.

Tim quickly grasped the value of hard work, and recognized the distinction between good citizens who made mistakes and criminals who preyed upon our communities. He gained real-world experience in upholding the law to deliver both justice for the victim and fairness to the accused.

17th Judicial District Attorney's Office, Adams & Broomfield Counties, CO
After just under a decade, in 1999 he took the opportunity to move back to Colorado to work for Bob Grant, District Attorney for the 17th Judicial District.

Under DA Bob Grant's guidance, Tim continued to develop his skills and displayed the kind of dedication to the fundamentals of prosecution, ethics, rule of law, and justice that allowed for him to advance and be assigned to specialized units throughout the office.

Chief Trial Deputy District Attorney
By 2005, Don Quick was the District Attorney and he promoted Tim to the position of Chief Trial Deputy District Attorney. Over the next eleven years, Tim was specifically assigned and responsible for prosecuting complex and violent crimes. Additionally, his assignments included training, mentoring, managing, and leading attorneys and staff throughout nearly every division in the office. This included the County Court division, all felony District Court divisions, the Administrative Division, and the Child Victim Unit. Tim was also assigned to the Critical Incident Team, on-call rotation for homicides and was a member of the Adams County Community Corrections Board.

Each assignment enabled him to learn the important aspects of the day-to-day operations of the office.

1st Judicial District Attorney's Office, Jefferson & Gilpin Counties, CO
In 2017 Tim was hired by Pete Weir, District Attorney for the 1st Judicial District. This move allowed him to continue to serve our Colorado communities by being directly assigned to more violent and complex crimes.

The opportunity also enabled Tim the fresh perspective of working in an office that is efficient, professional, positive, and provides a supportive working environment for attorneys and staff.

Returning to the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office will allow Tim to use his strong public safety background, trial skills, and proven experience to bring back leadership and trust both in the office and in our communities and to serve the public with dedication and professionalism.

Experience • Leadership • Integrity
Over his 27 years as a prosecuting attorney, 17 of those in Adams and Broomfield counties, Tim cultivated a strong, collaborative, and productive working relationship with all criminal justice service providers who had contact with the criminal justice system. This includes judges, prosecutors, support staff, defense attorneys, law enforcement, and victims of crime.

Tim has prosecuted thousands of cases and tried over 150 jury trials that include violent offenses, sexual assaults, sexual assaults on children, complex drug prosecutions, and over 27 homicide cases. (See major cases here.)

His success in these assignments and responsibilities is a proven track record that Tim possesses the skills, experience, and trust necessary to lead as District Attorney of the 17th Judicial District.
