InfoThanks for visiting my website to learn more about me and my campaign. I have served Adams and Broomfield counties for over twelve years and would be honored to serve as your next District Attorney.

I was born in a military hospital in Germany, where my parents were stationed in the United States Air Force. We moved back to Colorado when I was two years old and I grew up in Aurora with my twin brother, Jeff. Later on, my parents moved across town to Littleton, where my brother and I went to Heritage High School. I attended Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio, and earned a degree in political science. After college, I moved to Washington, DC, where I had the great privilege of serving as an aide in the White House during the last three years of the Clinton Administration. I later served as a legislative aide, press secretary and chief of staff to a senior member of Congress.

Although I loved working on federal policy at the White House and for Congress, I moved home to Colorado because I wanted to make a concrete difference in my own community. I earned my law degree from the University of Colorado Law School, then joined the District Attorney’s Office in December of 2006 and never left. During my more than twelve years at the DA’s office, I have prosecuted thousands of cases, including over 100 jury trials, and have helped bring justice to victims of crime from all over our community. I am now a Chief Trial Deputy in the office, supervising 25 attorneys and overseeing the prosecution of our felony cases.

My motto as your next elected District Attorney is straightforward: to do the right thing in all cases, at all times, no matter what. I will fight for the most vulnerable in our society, especially victims of sexual assault, domestic violence and human trafficking. I will pursue sex traffickers, drug dealers, those who abuse children, those who target the elderly and those who commit violent crimes. And I will seek to protect our community from those that will do us harm.

In addition to protecting the most vulnerable among us, I want to make our criminal justice system better for those who are in it. I will seek to expand our diversion programs to keep appropriate, non-violent offenders out of the criminal justice system altogether. I will enhance and expand our use of specialty courts so we can treat those who are addicted to drugs, the mentally ill and those who are veterans. And I will seek sentences that are consistent with fairness, justice and integrity and will teach my deputies to do the same.

I want the District Attorney’s Office to play a larger role in our community. I will seek to do this by collaborating with our schools, senior citizen centers and community organizations. I will work with our law enforcement agencies and community partners to prevent crime through education, treatment and reducing recidivism.

Finally, I will lead the District Attorney’s Office with integrity. I will build a team of attorneys, investigators, victim advocates, paralegals and support staff who are committed to doing the right thing in every case and who will serve our community with integrity and fairness.

My wife and I love this community and we’re proud to be raising our family here. This campaign is a labor of love and service for us. It would be a great honor to serve as your next District Attorney. I hope you will join me in this campaign. Thank you for your support!
