InfoMrs. Nancy Bradeen Spannaus

Nancy Spannaus is a leader of the LaRouche wing of the Democratic Party and the LaRouche political movement, and the editor-in-chief of The New Federalist, a weekly national newspaper. She's lived in Virginia for 17 years, been married to Edward Spannaus for 33 years, and is the mother of two sons.

Nancy has written a book on the Political Economy of the American Revolution, and countless articles, on subjects ranging from international economics and politics to American history and the revival of Nazi euthanasia. She began running for office in 1989, after her husband was sent to jail with LaRouche. She won nearly 200,000 votes in her race against John Warner in 1990. She ran as an independent for Governor in 1993, and as a Democrat for Senate in 1994 and 1996, and for Congress in 1998. But she is perhaps best known as the lady who led the Defeat that Son-of-a-Bush Committee against Ollie North in 1994, providing the sparkplug for the mobilization which stopped him.
