InfoI, CESTRA E. (CES) BUTNER, hereby declare that I am a candidate for an elective office in the City of Oakland, and make the following statement, to-wit:
That my name is Ces Butner.
The office for which I am a candidate is Mayor.
My occupation for the past five years has been: Small Business Owner -- Beverage Distributor.
I have held the following public office: None.

Statement of general qualifications: As the only Oakland businessperson running for Mayor, I want to change the way Oakland works. I am a successful small businessperson who will emphasize economic development, quality education, safe neighborhoods and efficient government. I will bring a unique combination of private sector experience, community service, and fresh ideas to the Mayor's office. Ideas like: building a private/public endowment to send all Oakland students to college; increasing government productivity and putting the savings into our schools, police, and business development; and replacing career politicians on the Coliseum Board with business and community leaders. In 18 years of living and working in Oakland, I've been a leader on the boards of the Chamber of Commerce, YMCA of the East Bay and the Bay Area Black United Fund. My record is clear, I get results and I know that it's government's job to serve people. As Mayor I will make it happen.
The signatures of not more than twenty nor less than ten residents of the City of Oakland sponsoring my candidacy are as follows: James A. Vohs
