Mrs. Stephens is a native Jackson Countian, living her younger years in Grand Ridge. In her pre-teens, she moved to Marianna with her mother and two sisters. She graduated from Marianna High School and attended Chipola Jr. College.
In 1967, Sylvia met and married her husband, Henry, and they had three children together. She has two daughters, one son, a step-son and eight wonderful grandchildren.
Prior to being elected Supervisor of Elections, Mrs. Stephens worked alongside of her husband in their family owned business, Stephens Chevron. She has also worked in the Jackson County School System and several years as secretary at Daffin Mercantile Company.
