After serving as a legislative advisor to a member of the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, Dan then worked as a lobbyist and legislative analyst for private firms and local government entities in Colorado. This work included advocating for policy and legislation on behalf of clients in Washington, in Denver, and at the local level across Northern Colorado. Dan has extensive experience inside municipal, county, and special district government in Colorado, as well as experience navigating local, state, and federal processes on behalf of clients.

In addition to owning and several businesses in Fort Collins, Dan has served on the board of a variety of non-profits, including the Fort Collins Municipal Railway Society, the Fort Collins Musicians Association, and the Northern Colorado AIDS Project. With this experience, he has led trainings for non-profit board members and executives on advocacy and leadership.
