Info | I grew up in the farming community of Reardan where my father was a wheat farmer. My twin sister, Jane, is deceased and my younger brother, Lee, lives in Livermore, California. I graduated from Reardan High School in 1968 and received a B.A. in Communications from Washington State University in 1972. Go Cougs!
I’ve been married to David, a retired Arlington attorney, for 48 years. Our son, Bryce, is a dentist with Eagle Family Dental Clinic and our son, Brady, is a construction supervisor. Our grandchildren, Emily, Eric and Blake all attend Presidents Elementary.
I enjoy following all Arlington High School sports teams and am an avid and vocal supporter of the WSU Cougars.
I retired from Northwest Hardwoods/Weyerhaeuser after 30 years. I’m currently serving as secretary of the Cascade Valley Health Foundation and have been an active member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for 42 years. I also serve the City of Arlington by chairing the Civil Service Commission. In my spare time, I bake cookies weekly for the Cancer Care Alliance Center in Smokey Point, and continue to donate many cheesecakes to community organization fundraisers.
I was first elected to the School Board in 1999. I’m proud to be on a board that focuses on outcomes we want to achieve—getting our kids work ready for higher wage jobs or college ready. I’m happy to be part of a board that is setting clear goals, involving staff in solving challenges, developing a culture that values quality; a board that sets a high value on data-driven decision making and that can respond quickly to problems. It is a challenging job which I find truly rewarding.
