Info | Regina O’Brien was appointed by the Board of County Commissioners as the Eagle County Clerk & Recorder in December 2016 to fill a mid-term vacancy. She is responsible for motor vehicle titling and registration, recording of property records and legal documents, voter services and elections and clerk to the board activities. She has achieved certification from the Colorado Secretary of State's Office as a Colorado Election Official.
Ms. O’Brien moved to Eagle County in 1997 after graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and International Relations from the University of Notre Dame. Her first local position was as the Marketing Manager for Curtin-Hill Sports, which was later acquired by Intrawest Retail Group. In this role, she directed the activities of front-line and supervisory staff in three locations and was also active in local marketing and business groups. In 2005, she left the county to pursue a Master of Business Administration degree at the University of Oregon, and graduated with honors before moving back to the valley.
Ms. O’Brien was hired as the Chief Deputy Clerk and Recorder in 2013, and has been instrumental in promoting a culture of service, professionalism and teamwork in the Clerk’s office. An active participant in the state-wide Motor Vehicle and Election Statute and Review Committees, she is excited to increase her contributions to the County and to the State as she looks for more efficient and progressive ways to deliver Clerk & Recorder services to Eagle County citizens.
Outside of the office, nothing is more enjoyable than spending time with her two daughters, husband, and close-knit family. In the summer, you’ll find them at one of the many fantastic Eagle County parks or swimming pools and in the winter, they’re happiest on a ski slope, sledding hill or on a hut-trip.
