InfoMilton Louis Anfenger was an attorney, Colorado State Senator, and Owner of the Denver Bears Baseball Team. He served in the 15 & 16th general assemblies as a Repubican. He also served in the Colorado National Guard as a Colonel. In 1901 he became a member of Board of Trustees for National Jewish Hospital and later General Rose Hospital. He was the founder of the Central Jewish Aid Society,nd several other clubs and organizations in Denver. From 1923 to 1932 he owned the Denver Bears Baseball team and Merchants Park were they played. His parents were German immigrants. He was the son of prominant Denver businessman, Louis Anfenger and Louise Scheslinger, and was born in Denver, Colorado Territory before Colorado was a state on September 3rd 1874, therefore making him a "Son of Colorado". He attended East High School in Denver and went to college at Leland Stanford Junior University in California were his roommate was future United States President Herbert Hoover. He married Essie Wolfson of Fort Worth, Texas in 1911. He became an attorney and practiced in Denver. He succumbed to a heart attack at the age of 78 years on December 9th 1952. He is buried next to his parents and wife Essie and other family members in Denver's "Pioneer Cemetery" Riverside.
