Info | Woody White has spent his life serving others, working with people from all walks of life in both his career and community initiatives.
From Student Body President when he was in college to testifying before the Nebraska Unicameral while a law student, Woodys life has been defined by taking the lead on tough issues and in providing commonsense solutions to problems.
As a two term Chairman of the New Hanover County Republican Party, Woody demonstrated remarkable capacity to understand the issues, bring people together, find consensus, and work through tough times. His calm manner and consistent adherence to the principles of conservative government helped him work with elected leaders on the many challenges facing New Hanover County.
As a practicing attorney for nearly 10 years, Woody has distinguished himself among his colleagues. He earned a stand-out rating from Martindale-Hubbell, who issue attorney ratings based on objective peer review. Woody is known by his fellow attorneys as well as the judges before whom he practices, as a fair, prepared, deliberate and thoughtful practitioner of the law who has freely given of his time and talents to represent both the indigent and less fortunate. He has been admitted to the bars of every North Carolina Court, the Federal District Court, as well as the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond, Virginia and the United States Supreme Court.
When Woody was on the Board of New Hanover Regional Medical Center, it experienced unparalleled financial and clinical success and with the help of a forward-looking board of trustees, Woody led the charge to increase employee morale, hit record-setting marks with patient satisfaction, and became a staunch advocate for physicians. He was the youngest to ever be appointed to the Board of Trustees and in his final year of service, he was Chairman of the Finance Committee and provided steady, trusted leadership in hostile market conditions.
