| Info | Jennifer Garrison was born in 1962 to Nancy and Don Dierig in the Greater Cincinnati area of Ft. Thomas, KY. Jennifer has three brothers who still reside in the Cincinnati area.
Jennifer attended Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio and earned her degree in Business Administration with a major in Economics in 1984. In 1987, Jennifer received her Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from Catholic University Law School in Washington, D.C.
During College and Law School, Jennifer interned for the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) and worked for the Ohio Department of Transportation and Ohio Department of Natural Resources as a legislative assistant in Washington, D.C. In this position, Jennifer lobbied Ohio's Congressional delegation to vote on legislation that positively impacted Ohio's funding for Transportation and Natural Resources.
From 1987 through 1988, Jennifer completed a Judicial Clerkship for the Philadelphia County State Court and from 1988 to 1990; Jennifer was an Associate Attorney for the Philadelphia Law Firm, Brookman, Rosenberg, Brown & Sandler.
Jennifer married Russ Garrison in 1989 and moved to Marietta, Ohio in 1990 to start their life together. Jennifer is the mother of Emily, age 12; Sam, age 10; and Max, age 5. Jennifer's passion for addressing the school funding formula comes directly from her role as a mother of three (3) children and her interactions with mothers and fathers in southeast Ohio.
In 1990 Jennifer joined the law firm of McCauley, Webster & Emrick as an Associate Attorney, where she became a partner in 1993. In 1996, Jennifer opened her own private law practice where she concentrates her practice on family mediation. Since 1997, Jennifer runs the Washington County Visitation Mediation Project. This program provides free mediation to parents allowing them to work out their custody and visitation conflicts. This is a positive alternative to battling out these issues in court.
Jennifer's community involvement includes, Board Member for EVE, the domestic violence shelter (1996-1999); Board Member of Washington County Mental Health & Alcohol Addiction Board 1991-1993; Marietta Civil Service Board Commissioner 1997-2004; Volunteer in Marietta City Schools 1998-2003.
The Garrison family are Members of Christ United Methodist Church in Marietta.
Jennifer is licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio; State of Pennsylvania; State of New Jersey; State of West Virginia. Jennifer is a member of the Ohio and West Virginia State Bar Associations and the Washington County, Ohio Bar Association where she served as a past president in 1996-1997.
