Info | YOUNGDAHL, Oscar Ferdinand, a Representative from Minnesota; born in Minneapolis, Minn., October 13, 1893; attended the public schools and Hamline University, St. Paul, Minn.; was graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College, St. Peter, Minn., in 1916; principal of Ortonville (Minn.) High School and instructor of dramatics and public speaking 1916-1918; during the First World War served as a seaman second class in the United States Navy in 1918 and 1919; engaged in the sale of bonds and securities 1919-1925; was graduated from the Minnesota College of Law at Minneapolis in 1925; was admitted to the bar the same year and commenced practice in Minneapolis, Minn.; unsuccessful candidate for attorney general in 1936; elected as a Republican to the Seventy-sixth and Seventy-seventh Congresses (January 3, 1939-January 3, 1943); unsuccessful candidate for renomination in 1942; resumed the practice of law until his death in Minneapolis, Minn., February 3, 1946; interment in Lakewood Cemetery.
