InfoEarvin Johnson, known universally for his illustrious 13-year professional NBA career with the Los Angeles Lakers, has redefined himself as a successful businessman. Always advancing and achieving, he is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Johnson Development Corporation (JDC), founded in 1993.

Mr. Johnson's provides the leadership for the development of JDC business goals to restore needed services and establish new business enterprises in under-served communities throughout the United States . As the principal spokesperson for all JDC businesses, Mr. Johnson also advances his overall mission to revitalize communities and provide quality entertainment services, create much-needed jobs and employ local minority contractors and service vendors. JDC has established Magic Johnson Theatres, Starbucks Coffee Company, Magic's T.G.I.F Fridays and Magic's 24 Hours Sports Fitness Centers in urban communities and suburban communities.

Mr. Johnson heads Magic Johnson Entertainment, Magic Johnson Productions and Magic Johnson Enterprises. He is also Chairman and Founder of the Magic Johnson Foundation (MJF). The non-profit entity addresses critical issues of health, educational and social needs of inner-city youth. Additionally, MJF empowers minority communities through advancing and supporting worthy charitable organizations.

Earvin Johnson is an international speaker who fills a room with his enthusiasm and vitality. He has shared his ceaseless commitment, aspirations and varied experiences with corporations, organizations and institutions of higher learning, including; America Online, American Express, Farmers Insurance, Fortune Magazine, Washington Mutual, Rochester Institute of Technology, Samsung, Best Buy, Sun Microsystems, University of California at Irvine, Choice Hotels, Arden Realty, GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals and Coca-Cola, USA.

Mr. Johnson is a dedicated philanthropist who continually gives his time and resources to support worthy causes. He has served as a United Nations Day Co-Chair, is presently a United Nations Messenger of Peace, and speaks to youth about drugs, violence and other important social issues. He serves as Vice President and Event Chair for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) annual Magic Johnson Sports Star Award Dinner and Auction, and has helped to generate more than $1.5 million to support MDA's Los Angeles-area research, diagnosis, and community service programs. He has also been actively involved with the Make a Wish Foundation, United Negro College Fund for which he raised several million dollars over a decade, Starlight Foundation, American Heart Association and Urban League. He was a United Nations Day Co-Chair.

Mr. Johnson provides the inspiration and momentum for the Magic Johnson Foundation Taylor Michaels Scholarship Program that provides college scholarships, mentoring and internships. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for the American Cancer Society Foundation.
