|Info||I grew up in Utah and love raising my two young daughters – with my wife, Jess – in Salt Lake City. My mayoral campaign is inspired by them. When I finished law school at Harvard, I came back to Utah for my dream job as a staff attorney at the Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance (SUWA). There I worked to protect Utah’s public lands and learned about state and federal air quality rules. |
After ten years at SUWA, I went back to school, this time for business at Stanford. I returned to Salt Lake City to take on the role of executive director at the Pioneer Park Coalition. I saw firsthand the necessity of collaboration with key community partners, service providers, and all levels of government to address homelessness. I also witnessed the damage caused when housing becomes unaffordable. Currently, I am at Garbett Homes where we work to provide both affordable and green housing.
One thing I am proud of is being part of Foundation Escalera, a group I helped start in 2000. Escalera works mostly in Chiapas, Mexico, and has provided scholarships, built schools, and served thousands of students. We use experimental evidence to ensure we are making a difference.
I love being outside. I am an avid backcountry skier and splitboarder and an aspiring climber. These activities take me places where I am constantly reminded why our home is so unique.
