Info | Kathleen MacKenzie studied English literature and political science at Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania. She worked as a reporter and union organizer in North Carolina for five years before returning to Denver. She ran for the city council in 1999. MacKenzie was involved with the redevelopment of the former Gates Rubber factory site and advocated voter approval of the light rail expansion project. MacKenzie helped negotiate the development agreement between the city, the University of Denver and the neighborhood to define campus boundaries. After her term was up in 2007, Kathleen MacKenzie moved to Europe.
