Info | Lorenzo Sadun is a Professor of Mathematics at the University of Texas. An award-winning teacher and an internationally renowned scientist, he has served the State of Texas since 1991. He lives in Austin with his wife Anita and their three children.
Lorenzo has been politically active since he was in high school, and throughout his life he has fought for human freedom. While in college, he worked to limit United States involvement in El Salvador. In graduate school he became president of Berkeley College Democrats, and worked to pressure South Africa to eliminate apartheid. His role in peacefully liberating South Africa was not large, but he is proud to have answered the call of his generation.
Since the 2000 election, Lorenzo has written about political topics, and a number of his articles have appeared in the Austin American-Statesman. Four of those articles are available on this website.
He is active at his synagogue, teaching classes, coordinating the Sunday School, and, since 2002, serving as co-President.
Whether as a volunteer religious school teacher, as a university professor, as a columnist, or as a candidate for Congress, Lorenzo believes in learning the truth, and in sharing that truth with others.
