InfoBarbara Ann Radnofsky is a well-known Houston attorney with 25 years of experience at Vinson & Elkins, LLP (V&E), a pre-eminent firm founded in 1917 during the Texas oil boom and World War I. The firm flourished as the United States emerged as a superpower and Houston as the energy capital of the world. V&E provided the resources of an excellent learning environment for Barbara Ann to develop quickly as a young trial lawyer. A recognized expert and teacher in mediation, dispute resolution and health care law, by 1989 Barbara Ann was named as "Outstanding Young Lawyer" by both the Houston and Texas Young Lawyers Associations for 1988-89 and in 1993 she was recognized as one of "The Best Lawyers in America."

As a lead counsel, litigator and mediator, Barbara Ann has been instrumental in resolving a wide range of disputes involving product liability, medical malpractice, insurance, worker's compensation, malicious prosecution, civil rights, assault, false arrest, tax, bankruptcy, pipeline safety, banking, toxic waste cases, and health care. Indeed, she was recognized as a "Superlawyer" in November, 2003 by Texas Monthly and as one of the "The Best Lawyers in America for Health Care Law" in April, 2004 by the Corporate Counsel. She is board certified in personal injury and civil trial law. She has written numerous papers and has delivered many speeches on wide ranging topics.

Her expertise as a professionally trained mediator and arbitrator is particularly noteworthy - she has been proactive and resourceful in finding alternative out-of-court solutions to complex, expensive, time and tax dollar consuming courtroom litigation. An experienced mediation teacher, she has donated her services "pro bono" for teaching mediation to Upward Bound and to private and public school students, including middle school students for the Houston Bar Association Peer Mediation in the Schools Project.

From her career exposure to a wide range of legal issues that affect real people, she is deeply concerned about the underlying public policy and dysfunctional political rivalry issues that affect "good government."

In discussing the pros and cons with her husband, friends and trusted colleagues, it became evident to all that Barbara Ann could bring exceptional skills in bringing two seemingly incompatible sides together - to facilitate much needed bipartisan cooperation. Barbara Ann Radnofsky also brings strong knowledge and analytical skills to tackle the variety of difficult policy issues, ranging from health care, transportation, social security, the economy and net job loss, to improving the quality of public education and the environment. And, Barbara Ann is deeply concerned about the state of international relations, and preserving our freedom and national security in a dangerous, uncertain world.

A native Houstonian, Barbara Ann Radnofsky entered the University of Houston at age 16 as a National Merit Scholar, graduating with a B.A. magna cum laude in 1976. She was an active collegiate debater on the national debate circuit for her college years. She received a J.D. degree with honors from the University of Texas Law School in 1979.

Active in numerous community organizations, Barbara Ann is above all a family person who believes in a balanced work and home life. Barbara Ann is married to anesthesiologist Dr. Ed Supkis and has three wonderful children and a golden retriever.
