Info | Justin Hanson is a proud husband and father. He loves his family and keeps a close circle of long-time friends. His whole life, Justin has held a deep love for his country and has always believed that politics is a means to help people, and not a means to benefit himself. Justin is proud of his Catholic faith. It comes as no surprise to anyone who has ever met Justin that he is running for office in this time of need – because he’s always believed in standing up for what matters.
He is a proud son of Chicago’s southwest suburbs. Born in Berwyn, Justin was raised in Hickory Hills and Palos Hills and attended St. Patricia School. Growing up, Justin spent much of his time in the neighborhoods of Bridgeview, Oak Lawn, and Lemont. He spent his teenage years in La Grange Park, where he attended Nazareth Academy for high school. Justin was also a volunteer in Chicago Public Schools, as a teacher to students in the Back of the Yards and West Lawn neighborhoods. Justin and his family attend Mass at either St. Francis Xavier or St. Cletus (depending on which Mass times work with their one-year-old’s ever-changing nap schedule, of course). Truly, Justin has invested his life in nearly every corner of the
3rd District.
Justin has always been a hard worker – a value he learned thanks to his parents, who still reside in Palos Hills. One of Justin’s first jobs was in a Bridgeview brickyard stacking brick, sweeping warehouses, and unloading train boxcars of brick. He was 14 years old. Justin graduated from Marquette University in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. After graduation, he moved to Washington, D.C. where he went on to work as a policy analyst for Congressional Leadership. It was there, working long hours in the U.S. Capitol Building, that Justin had a front row seat to our legislative process.
Today, Justin is a practicing attorney at a well-respected Chicago law firm. He is a former Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney and strongly believes in public service. Justin serves on the Village of La Grange Design Review Commission, and previously served on the Environmental Quality Control Commission. He is also a member of the Lyons Township Community Advisory Council. Among his peers, Justin has earned a reputation for fairness, excellence, and an ability to bring constructive solutions to complex problems.
Justin lives in La Grange with his wife, Lindsay, and their two children, Lily (3) and Owen (1).
