InfoScott is a familiar face in Cumberland County, and has been involved in the community as well as provincial and federal politics for more than 30 years. Scott understands the issues facing Cumberland South.

He has been an active volunteer on local boards and advisory councils, currently serving as chair of the Citizens Advisory Council for the Springhill Federal Institution; past chair of the Springhill Lions Club; past chair of the CNIB of Cumberland County; and past member of the Springhill All Saints Hospital board.

Like neighbouring MLAs Karen Casey and Chuck Porter, as well as Cumberland-Colchester MP Bill Casey, Scott left the Conservative party because they’ve abandoned progressive values. Scott believes Liberal values allow for investment in the services Nova Scotians need and deserve, like the new Springhill school, while still living within our means with three successive balanced budgets.

Scott has worked in the power sport industry for more than 30 years. His passion for motorcycles scored him the Atlantic Motocross Championship from 1980-1983.

Scott has been happily married to his wife, Roxanne, for 35 years and is a proud father of two sons, Brad and Ryan, and grandfather to Meyer and Meston.
