With over thirty years of healthcare policy and health insurance law experience, Vickie is uniquely qualified to address the issues still plaguing our healthcare system. The Affordable Care Act promised to make healthcare more affordable, but it did the exact opposite. Vickie believes that we need more freedom and choice in healthcare, not a government run system that eliminates the competition necessary to drive down costs.
Fiscal Responsibility
As Secretary at the Cabinet for Health and Family Services, Vickie’s focus on efficiency and fiscal responsibility brought real results. While taking on some of the biggest issues in Kentucky, including reforming the child welfare system and collaborating more effectively with the court system, she also implemented nationally recognized programs and saved Kentucky over $30 million in reforms. She knows how to cut unnecessary spending and treat our dollars wisely, and will bring that experience to Washington.
