| Info | Ms. Stephens is committed to upholding her campaign promises to the residents of District 10. She stands firm in: working with municipal and county officials to drive Community and Economic Development, Protecting County Services for Veterans, Senior Citizens, Children and Families; Sustainability, and being responsible with taxpayer dollars. No stranger to politics, Ms. Stephens served as the former Mayor of the city of Cleveland Heights and as Vice-Mayor and Councilmember for the same city. While serving the residents of Cleveland Heights, Ms. Stephens helped pass the following legislation: outlawing discrimination against LGBTQ+ residents, legislation that prohibits landlords from obtaining a certificate of occupancy if they have not paid their taxes; and assisted in the helping to create a $4 million dollar budget surplus. In addition to serving the residents of District 10, Councilmember Stephens is the Chief Executive Officer of the East Akron Neighborhood Development Corporation (EANDC). Here, Ms. Stephens focuses on overall organizational development and management of EANDC’s real estate development, home ownership center, energy services, property management and rentals, and community development activities.
Ms. Stephens has a track record of success in Cuyahoga County. Prior to EANDC, Ms. Stephens served as the Director of Acquisition, Disposition and Development at the Cuyahoga County Land Bank. Over the span of her eight years of service with the Cuyahoga County Land Bank, her department helped complete acquisition, demolition, and environmental clean-up projects valued at over $50,000,000. Other professional experiences include: Board Member, Board of Revision, Cuyahoga County Commissioners; Executive Director, Leadership Cleveland; Director, National Development Council; Director of Development, Cuyahoga County; and Director of Planning and Development, City of Cleveland Heights. Ms. Stephens has been a key player in ushering more than $100,000,000 of investment to growing businesses and real estate developments in Ohio.
Ms. Stephens received a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Dayton and has designations of Economic Development Finance Professional and Housing Development Finance Professional from the National Development Council.
