InfoPete Snow is a life-long resident of Bowie County. As our next state representative, he will go to Austin to make sure the needs and interests of rural Northeast Texas are not forgotten. Pete is a conservative small businessman who is passionate about education, dedicated to job growth and economic development, and committed to expanding access to health care in our region.

With a successful record as a small businessman, Pete knows what it takes to build a business and create jobs. He served as Vice President of Langdon Oxygen Company, a family business which provided oxygen and related gases to hospitals, doctors, nursing homes and other customers in the medical field. Pete helped start and has since sold Langdon Trailer Sales, another family-owned business which provided trailers to customers across northeast Texas. Pete currently owns Snow Developments, a family real estate business. He understands the challenges of meeting a payroll and the effect of high taxes and government regulations on small business and job growth.

As a product of local public schools and a former teacher, Pete believes that a strong educational system contributes to vibrant communities, better opportunities, and a stronger economy. He graduated from Texas High School in 1965 and continued his education by earning a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of North Texas and a Masters of Business Administration from East Texas State University. Pete returned to Texarkana and taught at Pine Street Middle School.

Pete is a leader in his community. During a 15-year period of service on the Texarkana City Council, Pete built a record of accomplishment on behalf of those he served. He helped lower the tax rate more than 28 percent and was responsible for more than $20 million worth of improvement projects which led to economic growth. He earned a reputation as an effective advocate for his constituents and as someone who could work with people across the political spectrum. Pete served as Mayor Pro-Tem for two years. As Senator Bill Ratliff said of Pete when he endorsed him, Pete has a record of accomplishment and the experience to hit the ground running.

Pete also served his community through numerous boards and committees, including Hospice of Texarkana, Weed and Seed, Bi-State Information Committee, Bowie Central Appraisal District, and Toastmasters International. Additionally, until earlier this year, he was a Continuing Education Instructor in the Business Department at Texarkana College.

Pete and his wife Claudia, also a former school teacher, have been married 34 years and are active members at First Baptist Church, Moores Lane. Their daughter Tiffany and son-in-law Jared Horton reside in Texarkana, as does son Justin, daughter-in-law Jennifer, and their granddaughter Madelyn.
