InfoRam was born and raised on the Northwest side of Chicago where he now lives with his wife, Elizabeth.

Ram's parents immigrated to the United States from India in the 1970s. Professionals in their home country, they took minimum wage jobs to make ends meet while they raised a family, went back to school, and eventually worked as public servants for 25 years. He will never forget their struggle; it has and will continue to guide his path to public service and representing working families.

For the past three years, Ram has worked for SEIU Healthcare, advocating to protect home care for seniors and people with disabilities, child care for working families, and Medicaid for those in need. He championed progressive issues like a $15 minimum wage. Prior to that, Ram worked at the federal level, signing people up for Obamacare and organizing job fairs.

Ram is a proud board member of the Gun Violence Prevention PAC and the Indo American Democratic Organization.

Ram believes Illinois needs a new generation of iverse leaders who are Progressive and effective; legislators who lead on the issues, and who listen to and truly represent their communities.

When elected, Ram will be the first Asian-American State Senator and the first South Asian-American member of the Illinois General Assembly ever.
