| Info | Brent lives in Nacogdoches, Texas, with his wife, Heather, and their three kids: Kennedy is a junior at UT Austin, and Marin (a senior) and Stuart (a freshman) are in high school. Brent is a business professor at The University of Texas at Tyler and Heather is an education professor at Stephen F. Austin State University. They have lived in Nacogdoches for the last 10 years.
In 2018, Brent ran for the Democratic nomination in Texas's first congressional district. Brent has served in several leadership roles over the years. He firmly believes in smart, effective government that reflects the priorities and values of its citizens.
