InfoSheriff Mark Lamb is a husband, father, grandfather, and God-fearing patriot. From Hawaii to Manila to Arizona, Mark Lamb's rich experiences inspired his life of service. As the 24th Sheriff of Pinal County, he drives a powerful agenda to ensure community safety and prosperity.

Mark Lamb was born and raised until age 11 in Hilo, Hawaii. His family then moved to Manila, Philippines, as well as spending time in Panama S.A. before moving back to Arizona. He went to high school in Chandler, AZ.

A few years later Mark was called to serve a church mission in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He enjoyed their food, culture, and beautiful country, but this is also where he learned the value of freedom and a strong economy. The experience of living abroad has given him a deep appreciation for America and the freedoms we enjoy.

Sheriff Lamb moved back to Arizona with his wife Janel. They raised five incredible children and he gets to be grandpa to Brody, Ivy and Elaine, which is his all-time favorite role. Sheriff Lamb also has experience in the private sector as a small businessman. He owned a paintball store in Payson and a pest control business. He operated his pest control business until he decided to run for Sheriff in 2015.

Sheriff Lamb trained with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Academy and was named Valedictorian of his class. He was hired by the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, where he excelled as a police officer and was named Rookie of the Year. The following year, he received the Officer of the Year award. He was later promoted as a Detective to the Gang Enforcement Unit and in his first year was named Detective of the Year.

On January 1st, 2017, Mark Lamb was elected as the 24th Sheriff of Pinal County. Sheriff Lamb oversees a county the size of Connecticut and manages more than 650 employees within the department. The Sheriff’s Office operates with a $55 million dollar budget which covers all aspects of the Sheriff’s Office to include the Detention Center. The Pinal County Sheriff’s office provides patrol support throughout the county. The Pinal County Detention Center houses on average 600 inmates a day. Sheriff Lamb always says that his primary responsibility as Sheriff is to protect the people of Pinal County. Protecting the people of Pinal County has been one of Sheriff Lamb’s greatest honors.
