| Info | My hometown is Wellston, a small southeastern Ohio community in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains. In 1974, I moved to Columbus, Ohio, to attend college. I remained in Columbus until our move to Florida.
I am a 1979 graduate of The Ohio State University, where I majored in economics, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. In 1983, I graduated from Capital University Law School with a Juris Doctor (JD) degree. I also passed the Ohio Bar Exam that year and became licensed as an Ohio attorney.
While attending law school in the evening, I worked full time at Nationwide Life Insurance Company in the pension and annuity field. During this time, I also obtained my Charter Life Underwriter (CLU) and Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) designations. I continued to work at Nationwide in retirement planning, advancing from an entry level underwriter to Nationwide Life Insurance Company’s youngest female director. In 1991, I left the company to be an entrepreneur, beginning a solo law practice and establishing a real estate company. In 1995, I also began working as an adjunct instructor of real estate courses at Columbus State Community College.
In 2002, I moved to Celebration, Florida. In early 2003, I became an instructor, and later was given the added responsibilities of a manager, at IFREC Real Estate Schools, located in Orlando. While at IFREC, I joined the adjunct faculty of DeVry University and the Keller Graduate School of Management, where I continue to teach business law and ethics courses to undergraduates and to graduate students. I remained at IFREC until 2008 when I left to complete the writing of two spiritual books, host a weekly radio program on Unity Online Radio, and become a professional guest speaker at Unity churches throughout the country.
I currently live in Kissimmee with Sherry, my partner of 27 years. Our daughter, Alex, is a freshman at the University of Central Florida.
