Info | John F. Capo resides in the Borough of Totowa and has two daughters. He attended Totowa Public Schools and Passaic Valley High School. After graduating from Passaic Valley High School, John attended County College of Morris in Randolph, NJ wherein he obtained an Associates of Arts Degree. He continued his education at Kean College and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts. In 2002 – 2003 he attended BCA Construction Management Classes at Rutgers University and in 2010 John attended a Portfolio Concepts & Management Program at University of Penn, the Wharton School.
John worked as a Cement Finisher all through college in order to pay his tuition and during his college years he was a member of the Ice Hockey teams and was an Assistant Captain.
He was employed as a Cement Finisher Apprentice with the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers, Local 2, Paterson, NJ and then he became a Cement Finisher Journeyman with Local 2, Paterson, NJ which then merged into Local 4, Northern NJ.
John was a Field Representative for Local 4, Northern NJ from 1999 – 2000 and for two consecutive terms he was Secretary Treasurer, Local 4, Northern NJ from 2000 – 2006. Since 2006 to the present John is Secretary Treasurer, Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Administrative District Council of New Jersey, Locals 2, 4 & 5.
He is also a Trustee on Bricklayers Health and Welfare Fund, Local 4 and 5 Pension and Annuity Funds, Statewide Apprentice and Training Fund, NJ Labor/Management Fund and Negotiations Committee.
Since 2005 to the present John is an Executive Council Member of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers and presently serves as Vice President on Cement Craft Committee and Vice President Passaic County Building and Construction Trades Council.
John was also a proprietor, Capo’s Grill, Woodland Park, NJ and handled all finances and record keeping. From 1998 to 2002 John was Hockey Coach for Totowa, Little Falls and Woodland Park and Head Ice Hockey Coach, Passaic Valley High School and First Head Coach in start-up club team for one year then Varsity program.
In 2007 John was named Paterson and Passaic Boy’s and Girl’s Club “Man of the Year”.
In 2010 John received the City of Paterson “Municipal Council Citation” award for donating his time prepping and pouring of concrete slab to hold Vietnam era tank in Veterans Park.
