InfoFrom January 2002 to January 2004, Corey Hoze was the Midwest Regional Director for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), serving as Secretary Tommy Thompson’s direct representative responsible for guidance and coordination of HHS policies in the Midwest. Corey’s midwest region oversaw billions of dollars in HHS funding during his tenure that provided valuable resources to increase access to health care, continue welfare reform, fund at-risk youth programs and community health centers, and prevent bioterrorism.

Prior to joining HHS, Corey managed corporate affairs at Miller Brewing Co. in Milwaukee, WI, responsible for developing and implementing national media strategies to augment Miller's alcohol responsibility initiatives, particularly in the African-American community.

From 1997 to 1999, Corey was the Administrator of the Division of Economic Development at the Wisconsin Department of Commerce. Responsible for a $250 million portfolio of more than 1,000 grants and loans, Corey was the primary advisor to the Secretary of Commerce on economic development initiatives, programs, and new business development.

During Corey's two-year tenure as the Administrator for Economic Development for the state, the Department of Commerce invested in projects that produced over $43 million in development in Milwaukee County, creating or retaining nearly 1,000 jobs. Minority business development during the same period included over $5 million in projects and over 200 jobs.

Corey also served as the director of the Milwaukee Office of Governor Tommy Thompson from 1995 to 1997, acting as the governor's chief representative in southeastern Wisconsin, and liaison between the governor and local officials, businesses, and community leaders.
