Gordon Browning 1950-1952; executive secretary of Tennessee County Services Association 1954-1958; elected as a Democrat to the Eighty-fifth Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Jere Cooper; reelected to the Eighty-sixth and to the five succeeding Congresses; served from February 1, 1958, until his death in Nashville, Tenn., January 26, 1969; interment in East View Cemetery, Union City, Tenn.
