| Info | Barry Wendell is a native of Baltimore, MD, where he attended Baltimore County Public schools and graduated from Johns Hopkins University. He completed a year of graduate study at The Urban Studies Institute at Tulane University.
Barry has lived on the west coast, too, working as a substitute teacher in both Los Angeles and Crescent City, CA.
While in California, Barry Wendell legally married Joe Hample, his husband, in 2008. He followed Joe to WV in 2012 when Joe was appointed Rabbi at Tree of Life Congregation in Morgantown.
Barry was elected twice to two two-year terms on Morgantown’s City Council, in 2017 and 2019. Currently he volunteers at Osher Life-Long Learning Institute in WV, where he teaches rock and pop music history.
