Michelle Smith was appointed as the Township Clerk on January 9th, 2019. Prior to this appointment Michelle served on the Plainfield Consolidated School Board of Education from 2009-2015, as the Vice President and President of the Board. In addition, she serves as the Fundraising Chair for the PSD 202 Foundation for Excellence, Member of the PSD 202 Awards of Excellence, Co-Chair for the PACC Education Committee, Republican State Central Committee Deputy, ABC Director, ABC Legislative Chair and the Ambassador to the PSD 202 Board of Education.

Michelle has been a small business owner with her husband Brian since 1989. They have four adult children and have lived in Plainfield since 1996. Michelle is also a member of the Plainfield Junior Women’s Club, 100 Women Who Care, PACC Ambassador and a Member of the Friends for Charitable Giving. In the past she was a local and statewide soccer coach, Big Brothers/Big Sisters mentor, CAPE President and has held positions on several school PTO’s.

Michelle and her family continue to make community service in Plainfield a very important part of their lives.
