Info Rev. Anthony Williams is a native son of the second congressional district, born in Chicago and reared in the Englewood Community. Anthony was raised by working parents, his father, a WWII Navy Veteran, both of whom worked for the City of Chicago, a product of the Chicago Public School System, a graduate of William R. Harper High School, a graduate of Bishop College, Dallas TX and the Lutheran School of Theology, Chicago. Currently Anthony W. Williams is Pastor of the historic St. Stephens Lutheran Church located in the heart of Englewood. He realized that after the tragic events of 911, that life in America would never be the same. There are massive job losses, high-energy prices, the threat of social security being taken away and the ridiculous costs of prescription drugs.

There are no plans to protect health and education; there is racial profiling, not only for Blacks but for others as well. The erosion of the environment, threat to civil liberties and there is no security for the poor. These imbalances force us to look at champions like Anthony Williams. His proven leadership qualities, along with his ability to understand the complex issues of today make him the best choice for the job.

Anthony Williams is a doer and a coalition builder. He worked with others to mandate the building of the park we how know as the Ryan Harris Memorial Park. He is a part of the Englewood redevelopment team for residents and the district at large. Anthony W. Williams is working to build a new and better-equipped Harper H.S.

Anthony Williams is a family man; he?s married and the father of four beautiful children. He knows first hand what it is like to struggle, which is the main reason he?s been a public servant for many years. He stands on issues many well-known activists and leaders prefer to ignore. Dignitaries who embraced former Congressman, Mel Reynolds upon his release from prison, didn?t financially assist Reynold?s wife and children when they were loosing their home, but Rev. Williams did, he was the 1st to initiate a trust fund for them.

Rev. Williams assisted Tina Olson, Baby T?s mother, who followed DCFS guidelines in an effort to regain custody of her child who was being held hostage by Senator Burke & family.

Rev. Williams was the 1st to support former Senator Carol Mosley-Braun?s bid for equal pay for equal work. He assisted former Police Superintendent Terry Hillard, Ryan Harris? mother during the investigation for her daughters murder and helped to save homes for some of your neighbors when predatory lending was running rapid in our communities a few years back. Rev. Williams has done so much more so we recognize his efforts and acknowledge his commitment to our communities as a whole.

Rev. Williams is for the people. He is reliable, close up and personal with people in and outside his district. He listens to their concerns and goes the extra mile to assist everyone. Rev. Williams is genuinely in tune with the people of the 2nd Congressional District and their communities. He?s much more than a name, his actions are louder than his words.

Anthony W. Williams will work for you and your family! This is why we are asking you for your support for Anthony W. Williams? bid to become Congressman of the 2nd Congressional District in the up-coming election primary year, Tuesday, March 16th, 2004.
