Info | Reverend Raphael Warnock grew up in Kayton Homes public housing in Savannah. The family was short on money, but long on faith, love and humor. Raphael and his eleven brothers and sisters were taught the meaning of hard work.
Reverend Warnock’s father was a veteran, a small businessman, and a preacher. He spent the week hauling old cars to the local steel yard, and on Sundays he preached at a local church. Reverend Warnock’s mother grew up in Waycross, where she spent summers picking tobacco and cotton, and still lives in Savannah today. She worked hard to raise Raphael and his siblings to know that they could do anything they put their mind to.
When he enrolled at Morehouse College, Reverend Warnock didn’t know how he would pay the full tuition. With the help of low-interest student loans and Pell Grants Raphael graduated, earned a Ph.D., and was ordained in the ministry. Fourteen years ago, he was chosen to serve as Senior Pastor at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, the former pulpit of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. He was the youngest pastor selected to serve in that leadership role at the historic church.
Reverend Warnock believes his impact does not stop at the church door, and has been an advocate to expand health care coverage and to ensure hardworking Georgians can make a living wage.
As Senator, Reverend Warnock will bring to Washington the concerns of struggling Georgia families who wonder why no one is looking out for them. He will focus on fighting for quality, affordable health care, for the dignity of working people who are paid too little as our government works more for Wall Street, and to make sure every voice is heard.

It's a midterm with a Democrat in the White House, so Republicans will probably win everything as usual.

I'm curious as to which Republicans will be looking at this race. Will Doug Collins go for this instead of primarying Kemp? Is there a rural State Senator who wants to take a shot? Does Karen Handel need something to do?
I would have told you a midterm with a Democrat as President would mean lower turnout, but I would have also told you Democrats don't win runoffs in Georgia. In addition, Stacey Abrams on the ticket should motivate Democrats. It's a real crapshoot.

With (high propensity) suburban voters realigning toward Democrats, that rule might be as reliable as "Democrats always do poorly in Georgia runoff elections." If Stacey Abrams runs for governor, there will be big African-American turnout as well.

What is the Republican Party going to even look like in two years? I'm not convinced that there won't be some sort of split between mainstream Republicans and Trumpists.
Anyone who thinks 2022 mid-terms will be status quo, needs to rethink that.

IDK, we have to wait and see what happens next. What does the Biden administration and particularly Warnock prioritize.
If they move forth with the 2K a month he'll probably be fine

I would distinguish between photos and portraits. I thought you were going to offer up a "chilling by a column" type of photo a la Gillibrand or Lankford.
Interesting Stevens portrait. Includes some Native Alaskan art, plus it has the "I'm so busy, I can't just sit for a portrait for an hour" vibe.

The background in this photo of Danish Politician Nikita Klaestrup really helps her official portrait stand-out. I think more politicians should do photos like this.

The Swiss Federal Council has a yearly photo shoot of all the members, and the photos get quite stylish: https://www.admin.ch/gov/en/start/federal-council/photographs-and-speeches-of-the-federal-council/official-federal-council-photographs.html
