InfoWell known in the region, Pierre Dufour was Director General of the Centre local de développement de la Vallée-de-l’Or. Prior to that, he was Director General of Cité de l’Or – a tourist attraction of an old gold mine which won the Prix de l’innovation touristique du Québec in 1996. He was also the Director of Administration and Marketing for the Foreurs de Val-d’Or, the local Quebec Major Junior Hockey League team. He won the John Horman Trophy as the best administrator in the league for the 2006-2007 season.

Pierre is committed to his region’s development and to the well-being of its residents. For over 20 years, he has volunteered with different organizations that help promote and contribute to the region’s social and economic development. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Val-d’Or Chamber of Commerce and 48e Nord International. Pierre is also the President of the Filon Bantam AA d’Abitibi-Est, a position he has held since its establishment in 2010. He is currently serving as the honorary president of the networking dinners organized by the Club Entrepreneurs étudiants of the Centre de formation professionnelle de Val-d’Or.
Pierre has a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a certificate in marketing. He is a licensed travel agent and owns a travel agency with members of his family.
