Majority Caucus Chair in Pennsylvania State House

Born in 1921, Elinor Z. Taylor earned her Bachelor of Science degree from West Chester State Teachers College in 1943. She earned her Master of Education degree from Temple University and completed extensive additional graduate courses. She also attended the University of Delaware and Columbia University in New York.

She began her teaching career at Ridley Park High School, later becoming an associate professor in the West Chester State College Department of Health and Physical Education. Her career continued with an eight-year stint as West Chester State College's dean of administration. She holds the title of Professor Emeritus, West Chester University, and is the 1996 recipient of a Doctor of Public Service honoris causa from West Chester University of Pennsylvania.
