| Info | David Weber had a 30-year career as a police officer with Waterloo Regional Police. He views policing as largely being about collecting verifiable evidence and determining the best course of action in whatever circumstances encountered, to keep the peace and seek justice with fairness and compassion.
David, through his honourable service to others, has proven himself to put community interests ahead of his own. Seeing the struggles and inequity citizens face, has motivated David to get involved politically to protect people in ways that have been neglected.
David will press for quality-of-life issues to benefit all citizens, rather than keeping the system stacked in favour of the most fortunate and well connected. This includes ending poverty, more comprehensive healthcare, and most importantly, protecting our planetary health by moving to a clean green economy. To survive as a species requires us to protect our mother earth; home for all life, including us.
David continues to listen to his neighbours throughout the riding, and does his best to serve their needs and interests with an eye on the common good and sustainable solutions. David firmly believes that to have all voices heard in government, a Proportional Representation voting system should replace our currently used unfair, unpredictable and disproportionate winner-take-all voting system.
David enjoys the artistic composition aspects of nature photography, and enjoys his attempts at painting landscapes. He plays in a recreational billiards league, enjoys hiking, kayaking, and touring Ontario’s vineyards – all things that allow for the sharing of time with those he loves.
David previously ran in the 2014 and 2018 provincial elections to build support in his riding for our green vision. Of green MPP candidates across all of Ontario, David placed sixth best in voter support. He is excited for a successful outcome in this election, to work with our Party Leader, MPP Mike Schreiner, and to serve you.
