Because I believe that the United States is headed in the wrong direction in many ways, and that continued travel along the path now taken will cause substantial damage to the people of Georgia and the United States, I have decided to run for the United States Senate seat currently held by Zell Miller. I believe that I can help the people of Georgia and the United States get on the right track.

As an attorney/CPA who specializes in employee benefits and tax law, I am very knowledgeable about taxes, finances and the problems underlying our economic system, including Social Security and Medicare. Although few people realize it, the problems are incredibly enormous. Like any financial problem, the sooner action is taken, the better.

I am a big believer in protecting the environment in a practical manner. Accordingly, I believe in living for tomorrow, as well as for today.

I believe that the federal government?s role in individuals? lives should generally be diminished. Such a change would result in tax savings to Americans, under the balanced budget proposal I advocate.

I believe that strong national defense and intelligence services are a must. However, I also am a great believer in individual liberty. A proper balancing of these sometimes competing needs must be struck.

On February 28, 2004, I received the nomination of the Libertarian Party. Accordingly, I will be on the ballot in November.
