InfoJames "Jamie" R. Franks

For 12 years in the State House, Jamie has been fighting for working families. In 2006 Jamie took on Governor Barbour to restore health care funding for 65,000 elderly and disabled Mississippians. And for the last four years, Jamie has been working to make Mississippi a leader in alternative energy development to make our nation stronger and improve our state economy. Jamie is the Majority Whip in the House Democratic Caucus.

Today Jamie is running for Lt. Governor because it’s time someone stood up to the special interests and sweetheart deals that get in the way of what Mississippi families need: better schools, better jobs and opportunity for all.

Jamie Franks is the proud son of working parents. They’ve both worked at the Day-Brite lighting factory for the last 47 years. They taught Jamie the value of a hard earned dollar and an honest day’s work. He was the first in his family to go to college. Jamie worked his way through community college by cutting lawns and went on to graduate from Ole Miss and Mississippi College of Law. He is a family man, married to Lisa, a public school teacher and principal. Together they are raising two sons and live in Mooreville, right across the street from his parents and his childhood home. Jamie practices law and is an active member of the Tupelo Church of God.

JAMIE WILL

-Be 100% Pro-life, 100% of the time
