Has served on the Childrenís Code Committee, Probate Procedures Committee, Adoption Committee, and Paternity Committee of the Alabama Law Institute, to help re-write the laws in Alabama.
Authored the Putative Father Registry law in Alabama, to protect the rights of all parties in adoption proceedings.
Received national award from ďAngels of AdoptionĒ organization in Washington D.C. in 2000 for his service to adoptive families.
Has worked as Chief Election Official in Jefferson County for 15 years.
Served as Chairman of the Alabama Electronic Voting Committee.
Served as commissioner on Governorís Commission on Consolidation, Efficiency, and Funding.
Elected President and Vice-President of the Mid-Alabama Republican Club, and is currently a member and officer.
Elected to the Jefferson County Republican Executive Committee and Steering Committee, and elected in 2003 as County Party Chairman.
