Info | Before Suzy started a family in Western Springs, she grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago where she graduated from Carl Sandburg High School. She continued her education at the Illinois Institute of Technology, where she completed a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Suzy went on to pursue a successful career in Engineering consulting where she tackled problems facing her clients.
Following her early professional success and raising a family, Suzy obtained a Master’s Degree from Northwestern University in manufacturing Engineering. Due to her leadership skills and drive Suzy now manages an engineering consulting company located in Oakbrook, Illinois
Community involvement and public service have always been a priority in Suzy’s life. When her children were young she was an active school volunteer. She is an active member of the First Congregational Church of Western Springs where she served on the woman’s committee, search committee and properties committee.
To give back to her community, Suzy served two terms on the Recreation Commission, where she chaired the committee for two years. The residents of Western Springs recognized the dedication Suzy had for her community and elected her once in 2009 and then again in 2013 as Village Trustee.
During her tenure on the Western Springs Village Board, Suzy has been a voice for balanced budgets and efficient services. Suzy currently serves on the Planning and Zoning Committee and Chair’s General Government Committee.
Suzy and her loving husband of 35 years, Steve, raised their three children in Western Springs. Sadly, Steve was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s Disease and passed away this August. Suzy is focused on their children and their community. She especially understands the challenges working families face in finding support and long-term care for relatives affected by severe illness.
