InfoCormick Brendan Lynch is a resident of Newport, RI and has a deep dedication to his state and country. Throughout his life he has proven that hard work pays off, and is no stranger to adversity and what it takes to overcome it. Cormick’s core personality traits of duty, honor, and sacrifice were evident early on when he chose to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps at age 19. By age 21, he deployed to Iraq where he served as the lead machine gunner for his platoon in the fight to regain Fallujah as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. During his time in Iraq, Lynch distinguished himself as an agile, adaptable leader, strategic thinker, and excellent decision maker. These traits, along with others, were formally recognized when Lynch was acknowledged for his ability to analyze situations and make split second decisions in the face of extreme danger. The well-being of the unit was always above his own. These life-altering experiences taught Lynch not only how to survive, but how to lead, how to perform under the most extreme of circumstances, and how to overcome adversity.

Upon returning from Iraq, Lynch began work as an East Providence Firefighter while going to the University of Rhode Island part time. After two years of proud service to the City of East Providence with the IAFF Local 850, Lynch suffered a serious leg injury that would prevent him from working. As a result of that injury, Lynch decided to pursue a degree full time. He transferred to the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics at the University of Delaware and completed the curriculum for a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance in 2011. After leaving Delaware, the small town combat veteran took a job as a Private Equity Analyst with JP Morgan in New York, NY.
