Info | Joe Perske knows that working families in central Minnesota need more affordable and accessible health care and that young people in our communities should get the same world class education that children in other parts of the state receive. He understands that when working people are strong, our economy grows and prospers, which is why he believes we need to change the way lawmakers do business in St. Paul, because partisan gridlock and constant bickering are no way to govern.
Perske was born and raised in Sauk Rapids and went to college at St. John’s University. He taught phy-ed for 37 years, helped with countless track events, and was a coach for the girls varsity soccer team and adaptive floor hockey teams. He served on the Sartell City Council from 2005-2010 and was Mayor of Sartell from 2011-2014. In 2016, he was elected as Stearns County Commissioner.
Joe is an avid hunter and longtime member of the Rice Area Sportsmen’s club, so he understands the importance the Second Amendment has to the lives of Minnesotans. He’s deeply connected to the community and a member of Celebration Lutheran Church in Sartell. His pro-life values drive him to fight for every life, from the unborn to the elderly. Joe is a world class marathon runner, having run over 100 marathons in his lifetime. He brings that passion to everything he does and will bring that same drive and community values to St. Paul.
Joe Perske is running for State Senate in district 13, which covers the communities of Sartell, Sauk Rapids, St. Joseph, St. Stephen, Holdingford, Avon, Cold Spring, Paynesville, Richmond, Roscoe, and Rockville.
He and his wife, Janet, live in Sartell, MN. They have three adult daughters, a granddaughter, three newborn triplet grandchildren, and another grandchild on the way.
