Robin's career in innovation started early. In 1979, he graduated from California State University at Chico where he studied communications and business. After graduation, he moved to San Jose, California where he worked for his family's solar energy business.
Robin set out to pursue a career in technology and innovation. In 1983, he moved to Colorado Springs to join an entrepreneurial venture promoting a new community/industrial development called International Center for Aerospace Science and Technologies (ICAST).
In 1986, Robin moved to Palo Alto and purchased his first Apple Macintosh computer. Seeing the potential of personal computers and desktop publishing, he pursued a position with LaserWrite Desktop Publishing Center in Palo Alto, one of the first desktop publishing centers in the world. Soon thereafter, Robin cofounded Resource Group, an advertising firm serving high technology clients. Resource Group used computers and network technology for a variety of creative and business applications.
In 1994, Robin — and the world — were introduced to the World Wide Web. Intrigued by the Internet, Robin began developing websites for his marketing communication clients. When he built the Chamberlin Real Estate School website, he realized the correspondence courses offered by the school were ideal candidates for delivery over the Internet. Robin partnered with Chamberlin's owner to found proU.net, which markets online real estate and mortgage courses nationwide. ProU.net's courses were the first web-based courses to be approved by the California Department of Real Estate, and among the first online courses to receive the ARELLO Distance Education Certification. proU.net is thriving.
Robin has traveled around the United States and the world to (in alphabetical order) Cambodia, China, Columbia, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, England, France, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Panama, The Philippines, Thailand and Wales. His passions include SCUBA diving and sailing. Robin lives in Emerald Hills, California.
