| Info | Care moved to Alaska in 1979. Her husband, Rob, and she took teaching jobs in Aniak, a city of about 400 people, for Kuspuk School District, and prepared for their first child to be born. Between her three babies, Care worked as an elementary teacher; for Kuskokwim Community College as an adult education coordinator; for Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation as a health aide; for the Kuspuk School District(KSD) as a community education coordinator; for KSD as a part-time inservice training coordinator/teacher trainer; and for the City of Aniak/Aniak Daycare Association as the daycare center director/childcare grants coordinator. Eventually, Care went back into teaching, as a Title I Reading teacher/director for KSD. In 1996, Care was hired by the Anchorage School District to teach special education, which she did for 17 years. Now she is retired but still eager to devote her expertise to public service!
