Info | Prime Minister of Lesotho (1993-98). At independence he was the main opposition leader, and when his party was leading in the 1970 elections, the conservative government of Prime Minister Leabua Jonathan had them annulled. Another attempt to remove Mokhehle from power occurred in 1994, when he was fired by Lesotho's constitutional monarch. He returned to office within a month, and the king was stripped of all of his powers.
