InfoRev. Erick Salgado was born on November 8, 1970 in the Bronx, New York. He is the son of Puerto Rican parents, Joseph Salgado and Ada Norma Torres. He graduated with High Honors from High School in 1988, in the same year he also finished his first 3 years in Theological studies.

Salgado later graduated from Boricua College graduating with an Associates degree in Liberal Arts. He also finished his Theological Studies in the UTI University in Elizabeth, New Jersey, earning his degree as a Doctor in Theological Studies, and graduating in May of 2010.

Right after his graduation from High School he spent nearly a year as a Missionary in the Dominican Republic, before returning to New York where he established himself in Brooklyn NY. He opened his first Church in 1989 in Red Hook, Brooklyn New York, where he served as a community leader during a time that many in Red Hook struggled economically. That same year, Salgado began a day job at a Auto Part shop owned and operated by the Frasca family - a well known Italian family in Brooklyn, New York. His devotion as an employee, earned him a promotion, starting as a driver, taking care of customers, to being appointed as manager of the Auto Part shop, gaining the experience needed to manage a business.

In 1992, Erick married his spouse Sonia Salgado, who helped him develop his own business successfully in 1994. He extended his services to Sunset Park, where he opened a Bookstore, expanding it to the Bronx, Queens and Staten Island in a short time. Through the Bookstores, Salgado developed many social programs to help immigrants learn the English language and teach many youngsters how to play many musical instruments.

In 1998 he expanded his Ministry to Bensonhurst, gathering a congregation of mainly immigrants that have recently moved to New York, known as "Little Guatemala" in Brooklyn, New York. The new Church began to grow dramatically. Many of his followers were former gang members and trouble makers from Bensonhurst. Salgado was recognized by the local police department and community authorities, who recognized Salgado and thanked him for the impact he has made to the City. In December 2001, he was able to establish the first Temple in Bensonhurst which became the first Hispanic Church in Bensonhurst. The Church grew to such an extent, that in a couple of years he was able to establish the second Temple, also in Besonhurst, having a greater impact in a neighborhood where Latinos were not known as an independent economic or social force. The Church currently has more than 800 active members. In April of 2003, Salgado began the Radio Ministry known as “Radio Cantico” Nuevo Inc., by leasing evening and weekend hours from the former Spanish Network known as “Radio Unica”. When “Radio Unica” stopped its broadcasting, Salgado's managed "Radio Cantico" continued broadcasting on WSNW AM 1440 , where he successfully developed a tremendous broad audience in the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut area.
In 2009 the New York Yankees began their season Broadcasting on WSNW AM 1430, which ultimately helped Salgado reach a growing audience in the Bronx and Upper Manhattan. "Radio Cantico" Nuevo's affiliates include WNYH AM 740, WRKL AM 910 (formerly “PolskieRadio”) WJDM AM 1530 AM - serving as one of the biggest Spanish Evangelical Networks throughout the Tri-State area of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

In December of 2012 Salgado resigned as President of Radio Cantico Nuevo Inc, and has registered as a Candidate for Mayor of New York City in 2013.
