InfoJohn D. Noak is completing his fifth year as mayor of Romeoville. Taking the reins in the midst of the most challenging economic environment in most people's lifetimes, John's collaborative and forward-thinking leadership, in partnership with the Village Board, has helped Romeoville thrive, delivering balanced budgets and propertyJohn, Jeni and Sebastian at their home in Romeoville tax rebates for taxpayers, bringing thousands of new jobs to Romeoville and fostering a higher quality of life for its residents. Most recently, he was named Mayor of the Year by the Illinois State Crime Commission.


John was elected to be Romeoville's first full time mayor on April 7, 2009 after being appointed on February 6, 2008. He was previously elected Village Trustee for a four year term in May, 2005. Mayor Noak is a board member of the Will County Governmental League, the Joliet Regional Port District and the Des Plaines Valley Enterprise Zone. In addition, he is a member of the Strategic Policy Committee for the Will County Center for Economic Development.

The Mayor's background includes two decades working with local, state and federal governments and campaigns. Prior to his term as Mayor, John was the Director of Community Affairs and Communications for U.S. Representative Judy Biggert in Illinois' 13th Congressional District, where he worked for more than 8 years. Prior to his work with the Congresswoman he worked for the State and Local Government Commission of Ohio. Mayor Noak is a past member of the Romeoville Planning and Zoning Commission, Romeoville Zoning Board of Appeals and the Romeoville Economic Development Commission.

John lives with his wife and their one year old son in Romeoville's Lakewood Falls subdivision.
