Info | Ernest B. Fenton has many responsibilities: radio show host, consumer advocate and a proclaimed Social Justice Attorney. Mr. Fenton currently has his own law firm, The Law Office of Ernest B. Fenton. The office is based in South Chicagoland and has touched over 5,000 households since its inception. It is currently rated as one of the top consumer advocate and real estate law firms in Illinois. The law office began as a home based business and has now grown into a premier Chicago-land defense firm-fighting abusive lending practices, protecting home ownership, and advocating for the community.
Mr. Fenton comes from a “blue-collar working class” family. He grew up in Chicagoland, among five siblings. He understands humble beginnings and the hardships that are facing middle class families. This native of the Southside, served our country in the U.S. Army during the Cold War and witnessed the collapse of the Berlin Wall. Following his return, Mr. Fenton enrolled at the Chicago State University (CSU), School of Business, where he graduated in 1994 with honors. He later served as an adjunct professor and represented the university as the first alumnus to be invited to study at Harvard Law School. He graduated from Harvard Law School in 1997.
While attending Harvard Law School, he traveled to Nairobi and interned at the Kenyan Human Rights Commission. During that time he started a successful retail business with $1,000 that he borrowed from his mother, establishing global partnerships with Africa and Mexico. Mr. Fenton has been advocating and progressively speaking out on legal, business and political issues throughout the Chicagoland area during his radio shows, the “Social Justice Hour” on WVON 1690 AM and the “Gospel Truth Legal Show” on 106.3 FM.
In addition to his success as an entrepreneur, advocate, and attorney, Mr. Fenton sponsors internships for local high school students and speaks locally on business success. Additionally, he sits on the board of Life For The World, a not-for-profit organization that funds the Maranatha School and Orphanage in Haiti. The school feeds, clothes and educates over 200 Haitian children. Through his success and his background, he has been able to establish key partnerships within the community. He is for the people.
